CS Unplugged

Educational resource for teaching Computer Science through unplugged learning activities.

CS Unplugged is an educational website that introduces Computer Science through unplugged learning activities, games, and puzzles using simple materials such as cards, string, crayons, and printable classroom resources. The platform offers content tailored to different users and learning contexts, including teaching resources and activity ideas for educators, age-appropriate materials for students, and activities suitable for home use, while also offering adapted distance-learning lessons and online resources suitable for remote teaching and educator training.
It covers ages from toddlers to primary and middle school students, with appropriately adapted topics, e.g. 5–10, 11–14, 5–14.
The activities help learners develop computational thinking skills, including algorithmic thinking, decomposition, abstraction, pattern recognition, logic, and evaluation, without requiring programming knowledge.
Originally created for outreach and extension, it is now widely used in classrooms and other educational contexts worldwide.
